Butterfly Wings Collective arises following the murder of the ballet dancer ISABEL CRISTINA RESTREPO CARDENAS, occurred on June 15, 2008 in the old Astorga Park of the exclusive neighborhood of El Poblado in Medellin, park that, by the Butterfly Wings Collective draft submitted to the Council of Medellin is from November 26 of 2008 the name of “PARQUE LA BAILARINA ISABEL CRISTINA RESTREPO CARDENAS”.
Concerned about the growing insecurity in the city of Medellin, which attacks mainly women and commiserate over the death of the young dancer, and also encouraged the idea that at least at that site will never happen again such an event, a group of friends decided to form what would be called Butterfly Wings Collective
